5 Key Attributes Parking Lot Attendants Need To Succeed In Their Career

Parking lot attendants park vehicles or issue tickets for customers in a parking lot or garage. They may also collect fee.

The core tasks that parking lot attendants are likely to carry out include:

  • Take numbered tags from customers, locate vehicles, and deliver vehicles, or provide customers with instructions for locating vehicles.
  • Keep parking areas clean and orderly to ensure that space usage is maximized.
  • Direct motorists to parking areas or parking spaces, using hand signals or flashlights as necessary.
  • Patrol parking areas in order to prevent vehicle damage and vehicle or property thefts.

Having a strong preference for realistic work environments. Realistic occupations frequently involve work activities that include practical, hands-on problems and solutions. They often deal with plants, animals, and real-world materials like wood, tools, and machinery. Many of the occupations require working outside, and do not involve a lot of paperwork or working closely with others.
